Characteristics of Hainan coconut germplasm resources
The characteristics of coconut germplasm resources are the main factors that determine the value of their development. Therefore, for the coconuts in Hainan Province, researchers selected six varieties of Hainan Gaoya, Mawow, Wenyou 78F1, Huangxiao, Lvyou and Honghui as the objects of analysis. By analyzing its characteristics, the differences and stability between them are summed up. All kinds of coconuts can be obtained from the germplasm resource bank.
The difference analysis mainly analyzed the difference in morphological characteristics, coconut composition and quality among various varieties of Hainan coconut. The difference is shown below.
In addition, we differentiated the resistance to wind, cold and insect pests in various varieties of coconuts in Hainan. Through comparative analysis, it was found that the hybrids in the coconut germplasm resources in Hainan (Wenya 78F1 and Mawow Coconut) were stronger than Hainan in their ability to resist cold, while they were resistant to dwarf varieties of coconut (red dwarf, yellow dwarf and perfume coconut). The coldest ability is the worst. The duration of the development of the highest species of coconut in Hainan was the shortest and the highest survival rate. The longevity, fecundity, and population trend index of adult coconut were higher than those of Wendy 78F1.
It can be seen that different varieties of coconuts have different compositions and resistances. According to the competition principle of species survival of the fittest, some species may face extinction after a period of time. Therefore, the country will try to Establish a complete inventory of crop germplasm resources for the preservation of germplasm resources of different qualities to facilitate the analysis and study of different germplasms.
