Disappointed the US market Daimler Far East commercial vehicle market
Daimler, the world's largest truck manufacturer, has placed its sights on the Far East market with strong economic growth and huge market potential in China, India and Russia.
Andreas Renschler, head of Daimler's heavy-duty truck group, said in Detroit in the United States on Saturday: "China, India and Russia are indeed developing rapidly." As the world market leader, Germany should participate. Daimler is optimistic about China's commercial vehicle market and is waiting for the Chinese government's intention to establish a joint venture with Beiqi Foton. India’s truck market is promising. Daimler is eager to sell more commercial vehicles in this subcontinent country and has already found a partner in the region. Daimler wants to open its own assembly plant in Russia. The application may be approved at the end of this year or early next year.
In contrast, Daimler expressed very little disappointment for the commercial vehicle market in the United States. The company’s development in the United States is under considerable pressure and will not change until early next year. Ren Xerox stated that its US subsidiary, Freightliner, is still in a loss state this year.
This week, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Daimler project in Fujian, Daimler will soon announce the establishment of a commercial vehicle joint venture in India.
