FLIR launches MV series night vision infrared image system

FLIR thermal imaging cameras have been widely used in all types of ships. Whether it is a yacht (ship-type shipyard trading) or a commercial vessel, it benefits from the powerful features of thermal imaging cameras.

Unlike other night vision systems that require at least a small amount of illumination to generate an image, the thermal imaging camera does not require any illumination. Thermal imaging cameras are ideal for seeing waterway signs, shipping conditions, exposed rocks, piers, ruins, open reefs, other vessels and any other dangerous floaters. Other products include long-range hazard detection and personnel overload checks.

FLIR MV Series

The FLIR MV-Series thermal imaging camera offers a thermal imager with an uncooled vanadium oxide detector (VOx) that produces an infrared image of 640 x 480 pixels. It is a multi-sensor (product library supply) solution that is extremely affordable. The camera zooms between 24.5°X 4.1° field of view. The FLIR MV-604C thermal imaging camera is equipped with a thermal imager and a visible light color camera. The FLIR MV-604CL is also equipped with a black and white low-light camera.

Main features:

- Azimuth/Pitch Head: All models of the FLIR MV Series thermal imaging camera have a 360° continuous azimuth and a +/-90° pitch angle for superior environmental perception.

- Effective gyro stability: Guarantees stable images even in rough seas; this plays a key role in the long-range shooting of the FLIR MV series.

- Radar (Product Library Buying Supply) Tracking: Allows operators to use the FLIR MV to identify and track specific radar echoes, enhancing vessel safety in low visibility environments.

- Video Tracker: Users can select a specific target and the video tracker can automatically track it. The tracking mode is easily selected and entered using the buttons. Once the tracking system is activated, the camera can track the target as long as the target is within the detection range.

-PIP mode: In PIP mode (PIP), two different sensors can be displayed on the same screen. The user can select one of the sensors to display in full screen.

- Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE): The picture is clear even in extreme weather conditions.

Joystick control unit

The FLIR MV Series comes standard with a Remote Control Lever Control Unit (JCU) to operate the Azimuth/Pitch PTZ and capture a wide range of performance. Other remote joystick control units can be used to control the FLIR MV series at different locations on the deck of the vessel. These joystick control units are optional.

The joystick control unit is an important tool for controlling the FLIR MV series of thermal imaging cameras. It can be used to move the camera (azimuth or pitch), zoom in and out of the camera lens, switch between different camera images, adjust image quality and access on-screen menus.

The control panel of the FLIR MV series is well sealed for use in the marine environment. The joystick provides accurate proportional speed control. Use the joystick to get the desired FLIR MV series perspective.

Designed for use in harsh marine environments

All models of the FLIR MV series of thermal imaging cameras feature a rugged design that protects the movement from moisture and seawater. The built-in heater (purchased from the product library) is equipped with a device to defrost the camera protection window. This design ensures both the lens and the perfect infrared image in extremely cold conditions.

Easy to install

The FLIR MV Series joystick control unit features "Power over Ethernet (PoE)" for easy installation on any vessel. There are several ways to connect to the FLIR MV Series, which can be configured to work as a stand-alone unit or as part of a TCP/IP network.

About thermal imaging

Thermal imaging works with thermal imaging cameras equipped with professional sensors that "see" the heat released by the target. Because the thermal energy or infrared light has a long wavelength, it is invisible to the human eye. What it sees as heat is what we perceive is only part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Infrared can help us see objects that are invisible to the naked eye.

Thermal imaging cameras are capable of generating images formed by invisible infrared or "hot" radiation. Depending on the temperature difference between the different targets, the camera produces clear images and is therefore an excellent tool for preventive maintenance, building inspection, R&D and automation (product library supply) applications.

Thermal imaging detects in dark, night, haze, and soot environments and sees the observed target from a distance. The technology can also be used in security, maritime, automation, fire protection (product library supply) and many other applications.
