Jiangxi builds first silane gas production line to invest 35 million U.S. dollars
The silane production line in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province is expected to begin construction in the third quarter of 2011, be completed in the first quarter of 2012, and be put into production in the second quarter.
Silane is an important new material product, widely used in LCD flat panel display, semiconductor, solar energy and other industries, currently only the United States, Japan and a few other countries can produce. For a long time, the demand for silane in China has been increasing day by day, but it cannot be produced and supplied in China. LDK Solar's investment has filled the production gap of new material silane gas in China.
The reporter learned that the silane method is a new technology path for manufacturing polysilicon. The process directly uses silicon dioxide as the main raw material, skipping the high-energy-consuming production process of metallurgical silicon, and the power consumption is reduced by more than 30% compared with the traditional trichlorosilane process.
Yingli Group is the first company in China to produce high-purity polysilicon using the new silane process. For LDK, which is currently the second largest polycrystalline silicon producer in China, it is not excluded from the possibility of using self-produced silane gas to produce polysilicon in the future. This will further reduce the production cost of polysilicon and trigger domestic Polysilicon market competition is fiercer.
