Kongsberg Gets New Order in North America

On September 11, 2013, the reporter learned that Kongsberg , a parts supplier, has announced that it has recently signed a $6.35 million supply contract with a first-class seat supplier to provide wire harness products to the latter.

The supply agreement includes 22 wire harness components for the production of car seats. Kongsberger did not disclose the name of the customer, but the company revealed that the customer's seat will be used for a Japanese brand high-end SUV.

Kongsberg will start supplying its customers through its plant in Matamoros, Mexico, in 2015. The total value of this order is US$6.35 million. Kongsberger had already obtained the auto parts supply agreement for the auto platform at the end of 2012. With the recent addition of new orders, the total supply agreement of Kongsberg with this customer amounted to USD 125 million.

Thanks to continuous increase in car production in North America, Kongsberg’s business in this market has also maintained steady growth. In the first half of 2013, North America contributed 36% of sales to the company.
