Kunshan companies such as Giant and Aubay actively respond to bicycle exports

A few days ago, the majority of members of the anti-dumping committee formed by the 27 member states of the European Union supported the continuation of five-year anti-dumping duties on Chinese bicycles. In this regard, Kunshan bicycle companies are actively seeking solutions.

It is understood that Kunshan is an important base for bicycle exports in China. It has gathered giants such as Giant, Aubay, Goodbaby, Yaoma and Shimano. There are more than 30 companies that export more than US$10 million each year. Last year, Kunshan exported 1.1 billion U.S. dollars of bicycles, which accounted for 2/3 of Jiangsu Province and 1/4 of the country's total. According to Kunshan bicycle companies, it is generally difficult to develop the EU market. In response to the EU's re-levying of anti-dumping duties, Kunshan bicycle companies are actively developing markets in countries such as South America, the Middle East, and Africa on the basis of stabilizing the US, Japan, and Southeast Asia markets. Given the relatively large profit margins in the European market, companies such as Kunshan Giants and Aubay are mainly exporting parts to Taiwan and other regions for assembly and export to Europe. Because the EU offers preferential policies in Eastern Europe, setting up assembly plants in Eastern Europe is the best way for domestic companies to break trade barriers.
