Norway intends to disable plastic shopping bags

Norwegian Foreign Minister Eric Solheim said recently that Norway intends to prohibit the use of plastic shopping bags like China.

Solheim said in an interview with Norwegian Public Radio that China will ban the use of plastic shopping bags, and other countries have also achieved environmental protection through additional taxation. “Since other countries have done so, why are we falling behind?” Solheim hopes to come up with specific plans for the ban on plastic shopping bags during the year through parliamentary legislation or cooperation with the sales industry.

According to statistics, the Norwegians throw away about 1 billion plastic shopping bags each year.
