When starting the vehicle, Allison Torque Converter increases engine torque, provides excellent startability and acceleration, enabling vehicles to use small-displacement engines to reduce fuel consumption. In contrast, manual and AMT gearboxes cannot increase engine torque because the torque must be controlled or limited to extend the service life of the starting clutch.

Due to the uninterrupted shifting power of Allison fully automatic transmissions, the coordination between the engine and the transmission maximizes the efficiency. As a result, the power is smoothly transmitted to the drive wheels, and the gears are automatically and accurately switched at the optimum timing, allowing the driver to accurately control the speed of the vehicle and focus on the control of the vehicle.
