As winter approaches, the test of equipment will be more severe than usual in cold weather. So what are the misunderstandings of excavator maintenance during winter construction? What damage will these wrong maintenance habits bring to the excavator?
Wrong practice one
Premature or no cooling water
Serious consequences that can be triggered: The engine block swells or swells, cracks appear.
Correct way:
Run at idle speed before turning off the flame. When the temperature of the cooling water drops below 60 ° C and the water is not hot, then turn off the flame and let it go. If the cooling water is released prematurely, the body will suddenly shrink and crack when it is attacked by cold air when the temperature is high. When draining water, the remaining water in the body should be completely drained to prevent it from freezing and expanding, which will cause the body to swell.
Wrong practice two
Use whatever fuel you want
Serious consequences: Reduced engine life and chance of damage
Right approach
The low temperature in winter makes the diesel's fluidity worse, viscosity increases, and it is difficult to spread, resulting in poor atomization and deterioration of combustion, leading to the decline of the diesel engine's power and economic performance. Therefore, light diesel oil with low freezing point and good ignition performance should be selected in winter. Generally, the freezing point of a diesel engine should be 7-10 ° C lower than the local minimum temperature in the current season.
Wrong practice three
Combustion start with open flame
Serious consequences: burnt the machine in the worst, damage the engine in the light
Correct way:
Do not remove the air filter, ignite it with cotton yarn dipped in diesel oil, and place it in the air intake pipe to start combustion. In this way, during the startup process, the dusty air from the outside will be directly sucked into the cylinder without filtering, causing abnormal wear of the pistons, cylinders and other parts, and also causing rough work of the diesel engine and damage to the machine.
Wrong practice four
Bake oil pan with open flame
Severe consequences that can be triggered: burn the machine in the worst case, and aggravate it in the light
Right approach
Baking the oil pan with an open flame will cause the oil in the oil pan to deteriorate, or even burn, reduce or completely lose its lubricating performance, thereby exacerbating machine wear. Low freezing point oil should be used in winter, and the temperature of the oil outside the machine can be used to increase the oil temperature during startup.
Wrong practice five
Improper startup method
Serious consequences: serious damage to the machine
Correct way:
First cover the thermal insulation cover on the water tank, open the water drain valve, and continuously inject 60-70 ℃ clean soft water into the water tank. When you touch the water flowing out of the water drain valve with your hands and feel hot, then close the water drain valve and fill 90-100 Clean soft water at ℃, and shake the crankshaft to properly lubricate each moving part, and then start again.
Wrong practice six
Cold load operation
Serious consequences that can result: severe machine wear
Correct way:
After the diesel engine started to catch fire, some drivers could not wait to put into load operation immediately. Due to the low temperature of the diesel engine and the high viscosity of the oil, the diesel engine that has not caught fire easily will not be charged into the friction surface of the moving pair, which will cause severe wear of the machine. In addition, plunger springs, valve springs, and injector springs are also prone to breakage due to "cold brittleness". Therefore, after the diesel engine is on fire in winter, it should be idled for a few minutes at a low to medium speed. When the cooling water temperature reaches 60 ° C, it should be put into load operation.
Wrong practice seven
Not paying attention to body insulation
Serious consequences: reduced operating life, damage to the engine
Correct way:
The low temperature in winter makes it easy to overcool the diesel engine when it is working. Therefore, thermal insulation is the key to good use of diesel engines in winter. In northern areas, diesel engines used in winter should be equipped with cold protection equipment such as insulation jackets and curtains. In addition, the thermostat plays an important role in increasing the temperature of the diesel engine during operation.
The so-called sharpening does not accidentally cut the woodworker, and usually do the maintenance of the excavator, and the chain will not be dropped at the critical moment. (This article comes from Shantui excavator)
