Bouygues Construction and NFM Technology of France jointly designed a tunnel excavator with a diameter of 14.87 meters and a length of more than 7,000 meters. Its main features are less damage to the environment, low construction costs, strong project schedule control, and excellent safety.
According to reports, the excavator is like a submarine and its direction has always been controlled by a laser-sensing navigation device. The data recorded by all the work of this giant tunnel excavator will be transmitted to the ground computer in time, and about 600 pieces of data will be transmitted through the optical fiber network every second.
