Goodyear once again shot smart tires

Recently, Goodyear said in a statement it had acquired Ventech Systems company, the tire manufacturer did not disclose the specific amount of the acquisition.

Ventech Systems is headquartered in Dorsten, Germany. The main product is a fully automated tire monitoring system. It is reported that this system can provide tire pressure, tread depth and vehicle weight information to the owner in real time.

Goodyear said that Ventech Systems' products will be integrated with its own businesses and will primarily serve Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This is the second time Goodyear has shown interest in the smart tire business. Not long ago, the tire manufacturer announced that it had cooperated with Tesloop of the United States.

Tesloop is an urban mobile travel service company. All the company uses is a Tesla electric car. Goodyear installed wireless sensors inside its tires to continuously measure and record the temperature and pressure of the tires. At the same time, this technology can also be combined with other vehicle data to predict the need for tire repair or replacement.
