Method for clarifying gold-containing precious liquid in sand filter box

Sand filter boxes are usually made of steel, wood or concrete and are square or round (see the figure below). The desilting medium is placed in the box, and the upper and lower layers are provided with a filter curtain of a sack or a grass bag. The upper filter curtain prevents the solution from rushing away from the filter layer, and the lower layer prevents the mud from being carried away by the solution. The intermediate filter layer consists of pebbles and fine sand, and pebbles are used to increase the liquid storage space. The solution is fed from above and the clean liquid is discharged from the bottom drain.

The sand filter should be set up for regular rotation and the fine sand should be renewed when changing.
Sand filters are the same as sedimentation tanks because they have low productivity per unit area and poor clarification, so they are often used in conjunction with frame clarifiers. Gold-containing solution is clear job is often due cloth carbonates, sulfides, and precipitate sludge clogging, affecting the normal production. To eliminate these harmful effects, the following measures should be taken:
1. Shorten the contact time of the gold-containing solution with air and eliminate the intermediate groove between the filter and the clarifier.
2. Stir the slurry with compressed air without carbon dioxide to reduce the concentration of carbonates in the solution.
3. Use acid as a pure agent to remove carbonate precipitates on filter cloth, pipes and metal parts.
4. Wash the filter cloth with 1 to 1.5% hydrochloric acid to eliminate carbonate precipitation.
