Recently, Shanghai Jiaotong University’s “Wing†Plan Career Development Training Camp - University Student Employment Guidance Practice Group went to Shandong Weichai Power Practice Base to carry out practical activities. The practice group learned from the entire assembly line of the Weichai power casting and forging plant that the factory mainly produces diesel engine block, cylinder head, flywheel, flywheel housing, crankshaft, crankcase, gear chamber and other castings. The practice group had an in-depth discussion with the engineers of the casting and forging plant, understood the factory's production capacity, technical level, personnel structure, management level, etc., and carried out in-depth discussions with the engineer in combination with their own topics.
Alumni and students of Jiaotong University who worked in Weichai discussed development issues in the professional field. The practice delegation also visited Weichai Power's new energy engine company, engine remanufacturing company, and diesel generator company, and also communicated with related engineering and technical personnel of the company. In the Weichai main plant, which was mainly responsible for the assembly of marine engine parts, the students were impressed with the clean and orderly environment. The workers' masters patiently explained the testing and assembly process of the marine engines to the members of the practice group and interpreted the Weichai. At the last stop of the event, the practice delegation visited the Weifang History Museum and further enhanced the understanding of the growth and development of local companies by understanding the development history of Weifang.
